Clarissa Bonet is a Chicago-based artist whose work investigates the built environment through both physical and psychological lenses. She holds an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BS in Photography from the University of Central Florida.
Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, the Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, the Aperture Foundation, the Magenta Foundation, and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.
Bonet's photographs have been featured in numerous national and international publications such as The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, CNN Photo, Chicago Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Juxtapoz, and The Eye of Photography.
Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, University of Michigan Museum of Art, Southeast Museum of Photography, Haggerty Museum of Art, University Club of Chicago, and the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection.
Most recently, Bonet received an Individual Artist Grant and Fellowship Finalist award from the Illinois Arts Council. Her work was also included in The Outwin 2022: American Portraiture Today at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
