Stephen Daiter Gallery presents Rare and Unusual, an exhibition of over twenty vintage photographs by Swiss-American photographer Robert Frank. Featuring rare prints of his iconic images, compelling outtakes, and early European work, the show highlights the depth of Frank’s vision.

Born in Zurich, Frank began his photography career young, later moving to the U.S. in 1947 to work under Alexey Brodovitch at Harper’s Bazaar. Inspired by Walker Evans, Bill Brandt, and André Kertész, he developed a raw, spontaneous style that culminated in his landmark book The Americans (1958).

Rare and Unusual offers an intimate look at one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century.
